“While the man was in handcuffs inside a detective’s car, he got his hands in front of his body, slipped into the driver’s seat and drove off, police said.”—That’s right, a man stole a police detective’s car while handcuffed. He crashed the car into a tree, jumped out and stole another car, crashed that car and was finally arrested. A robbery at a 7-Eleven kicked off the night of mayhem; two other suspects remain on the lam.
“Police said she crawled through the window of a White Castle drive-through window after displaying a toy gun and stole about $617 in cash.”—The incident happened just after 3 a.m. Aug. 22. Michelle Faye White, 33, of St. Louis, has been charged with first-degree robbery; police said she admitted the crime.

“The uniformed soldier was waiting to board a bus about 9 p.m. in a parking lot in the 800 block of Cerre Street near Busch Stadium when he felt a “thud” to his shoulder, police said.”—A soldier was hit by a bullet after Saturday’s Cardinals game. The bullet didn’t penetrate his uniform, but did draw a small amount of blood. Police recovered a bullet at the scene, but were not sure whether it was the same bullet that hit the soldier.
