I’m celebrating my 111th birthday this week, and you’re invited to my party!
Join me from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 9 at 4 Hands Brewing Co. for a “birdday” tweetup. Weatherbird artist Dan Martin will be drawing my portrait and signing autographs. We’ll have Filipinio-inspired fare from Guerrilla Street Food and cupcakes from Sarah’s Cake Stop. Four Hands offerings include Reprise Centennial Red, Cast Iron Oatmeal Brown Ale, Excess Rye Wine, Bona Fide Imperial Espresso Stout and Copia Fresh-Hop Saison.
At 111, I’m extending my reign as the oldest continuously running cartoon in American journalism. That’s right, I’ve been on the front page of the Post-Dispatch since Feb. 11, 1901. (I’m jumping the gun a bit by planning a party two days before my birthday.)
This is a free event; you don’t even have to use Twitter to participate. 4 Hands Brewing is located about a half-mile south of Busch Stadium at 1220 South Eighth Street, St. Louis. Save your spot now.
