  1.   Matthew Nosko, left, and Josh Welch leave University City city hall early today after being third in line to register as domestic partners. “It’s a huge thing for our city to step forward so we can have basic rights,” said Nosko. University City is the first in St. Louis County to recognize same sex couples as having the same rights as spouses at all city facilities and in city operations. 
Charles Redmond, who is retired from IBM, and Arthur Loporena, retired from sales at Macy’s, became the first on the registry. They have been partners for 42 years. ”We are overjoyed,” Redmond said.
